Goblins tear through Clarksville Panthers

The Harrison Goblins took care of business on Homecoming night.

In a game marred by turnovers early, Harrison took control in the second half and downed the Clarksville Panthers, 26-0.

Harrison carried a 6-0 lead into the second half, but the Goblins would quickly extend their lead.

Canyon Willard sparked the offense with a 29-yard run down to the 26 of Clarksville.

The Goblins would work the ball inside the 5 before Josh Williams punched it in from 4 yards out with 10:39 on the clock. Harrison would go for two and come up empty to put the score at 12-0.

Clarksville would turn the ball over on downs with 6:17 to play in the third and Harrison would score less than 2 minutes later.

Noah Ditmanson hit Daniel McCormick in the endzone with 4:25 to play in the third. Micah Ford’s extra point moved the score to 19-0.

Harrison took the 19-0 lead into the fourth quarter where the Goblins would add one last score.

Hunter Holtby took a handoff and split the Panther defense for a 30-yard score. Ford’s extra point set the final score at 26-0.

Harrison iced the game as linebacker Mason Martin intercepted a Clarksville pass with just 43 seconds to play. The pick was Martin’s second of the game.

Each team got just two possessions in the opening quarter with each team turning the ball over once.

The Goblins were nearing scoring territory when a Harrison pass was picked off by Clarksville in the endzone with 18 seconds to play in the quarter.

The Goblin defense answered the bell when Martin intercepted a toss from Clarksville's quarterback before being taken down at the 28-yard line of Clarksville.

Ditmanson would score on a 17-yard run to put Harrison on the board first. The extra point was no good as the score was set at 6-0.

The Goblins got another interception on the Panthers' ensuing possession, this time by McCormick, but Harrison would turn the ball over on downs at the Clarksville 32.

After forcing the Panthers to punt, Harrison's final possession of the opening half would result in another turnover on downs, this time at the 28-yard line of Clarksville.

Harrison improves to 4-1 on the season with a 1-1 mark in 5A West play. They will host Vilonia next week at F.S. Garrison Stadium.
