Martin's pick-6 lifts Gobs over LRC

It was worth the wait.

On Friday, the Goblins got a late pick-6 to knock off Little Rock Christian, 28-21, after a 1-hour storm delay.

With the game tied at 21-21 late in the fourth quarter, junior linebacker Mason Martin made the game-winning play.

Martin intercepted an attempted screen pass by the Warriors and returned the ball 64 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.

Micah Ford tacked on the extra point for a 28-21 Harrison lead with 3:06 to play in the game.

Harrison's defense came up big again when Daniel McCormick intercepted a pass and returned it into LRC territory with 2:45 remaining.

The Warriors would get one last chance to tie the ballgame, but Harrison's defense would stand up and force a turnover on downs with 26 seconds to play.

The Goblins took one knee and the victory.
After a scoreless first quarter, Harrison struck first in the second quarter for the game's first lead.

Ditmanson connected with Canyon Willard for a 26-yard pass down to the LRC 16-yard line.

Ditmanson then connected with Chris McCuistion to put the Goblins at the 1-yard line. Josh Williams would take care of the rest with a plunge into the end zone on the next play.

The Goblin extra point was missed for a 6-0 Harrison lead.

The Warriors answered with a touchdown later in the frame for a 7-6 advantage.

Harrison would answer with a Willard kickoff return down to the 14-yard line followed by a 3-yard touchdown run from Ditmanson.

Ditmanson then hit Cody Glover in the end zone for a 2-point conversion to hold a 14-7 lead with 6:08 to play in the first half.

The Goblins would force a pair of turnovers to close out the half as McCormick and Cameron Jones each intercepted passes for the Harrison defense.

Harrison led, 14-7, at the half.

The Goblins came out of the half with a 14-7 lead.

The Warriors of Little Rock Christian would score with 6:09 to play in the third to knot the game at 14-14.

With 2 seconds left to play in the third quarter, LRC grabbed a lead with a scoring pass.

The Warriors would enter the fourth quarter with a 21-14 lead.

Ditmanson led the Goblins on a scoring drive to tie the game with 5:35 to play.
Ditmanson powered his way through LRC tackles to move the Goblins down the field.

The junior quarterback would then overpower the LRC defense to plow his way to a 9-yard touchdown run. Ford's extra point tied the game at 21-21.
