HUNTSVILLE — Harrison’s 4A-1 matchup with Huntsville went the distance on Monday afternoon.

The Lady Goblins found a way to win at the end and won the conference road game, 5-2.

Harrison freshman Kaylee Wolfe was hit by a pitch to get on base in the first inning. Caroline Cecil followed with a hit. Wolfe found her way around the bases before the end of the inning to put Harrison ahead, 1-0.

Neither team produced any runs until Harrison went to bat in the top of the fifth inning. Wolfe’s third appearance at the plate resulted in a double. Cecil was then walked. Wolfe registered the second run of the game during the course of the inning and the Lady Goblins were ahead a 2-0 advantage.

Huntsville responded aggressively in the bottom of the fifth by putting a pair of runs on the board to tie the game at 2-2.

Shayne Gilliam got on the base path to start the sixth inning after a fielding error. Brook Morgan then came in as a courtesy runner and later scored as the Lady Goblins retook the lead, 3-2.

Harrison’s most productive inning of the game came in the top of the seventh when Wolfe reached on an error and Ty Whitehorse hit for a single. Both runners scored to set the final score with Harrison taking a 5-2 conference road win.

Caroline Cecil earned the win in the circle with 7.0 innings pitched allowing two runs on seven hits and striking out 13 batters and walking four.

Wolfe scored three runs to lead the Lady Goblin attack. Whitehorse and Morgan scored once each.

Harrison closes the regular season on Thursday when they host Mountain Home on Cavender’s Field at 4:30 p.m.
