A grand slam by the visiting team doesn’t boost morale on the homefront.

The Lady Goblins of Harrison got behind early and were defeated in conference action on Tuesday by the Lady Lions of Gravette, 10-0.

Gravette scored one run in the first inning and held the Lady Goblins at bay until they surged in the third inning.

Gravette scored two early runs in the third before loading the bases and hitting a two-out grand slam to increase the lead, 7-0.

Caroline Cecil struck out two batters in the top of the fourth and ended the inning by forcing a pop fly.

Cameron Casey reached first on a throwing error with one out in the bottom of the fourth. The freshman then stole second base, but was left stranded when the inning ended.

Harrison held the Lady Lions scoreless in the fifth.

Kaylee Wolfe began the bottom of the fifth with a single to reach base. Later she was forced out in a double-play ball.

Harrison was unable to get a runner around the bases and Gravette added three more runs in the sixth inning to set the final score and hand the Lady Goblins a 10-0 loss.

Wolfe recorded the lone hit of the game for Harrison.

Cecil suffered the loss in the pitcher’s circle allowing 10 runs on six hits. The junior struck out four batters and walked five.

Harrison will play in the Van Buren Tournament beginning on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
