HARRISON SOCCER VS. HUNTSVILLE

Monday night Harrison came off of Spring Break and easily kicked its way to a pair of 4A-1 league wins. The Lady Goblins posted a 7-0 win and the Goblins settled for a 5-0 win. Senior Girls advertisement Harrison defeated Huntsville, 7-0, on Monday night. The mercy-rule shortened game saw Makayla Campbell in the goal for 48 minutes and Maggie Salmon in net for 20 minutes. Neither had a shot on goal during their time playing. Sydney Shrum provided a sudden burst of offense for the Lady Goblins. She scored three goals in a 4-minute span. Overall the Lady Goblins managed four goals during that stretch as Kenzie Parker put the other ball in the net. Parker, Grace Martin and Claire Doshier assisted Shrum on her goals. Parker’s goal came off an assist from Brylie Parker. Those four goals gave Harrison a 6-0 lead. The Lady Goblins scored twice in the first half. Both goals came in the last 5 minutes of the first half. Brylie Parker scored unassisted and Brynn Oleson scored on a pass from Kaitlyn Pratt. The last goal of the night was by Kaitlyn Bridges at the 5-minute mark of the game. She scored an unassisted goal. Harrison is now 6-3 overall and riding a five-game winning streak. Senior Boys Harrison’s defense was on lock-down mode and Harrison’s offense was on attacking mode. The combination resulted in a 6-0 win for the Goblins over Huntsville. Goal keeper Rilee Jones did see a shot on goal the entire night. Hunter Holtby started the scoring for Harrison. The senior Goblin scored at the 32-minute mark of the first half after taking a pass from Max Payne. Payne continued with the assists. He shot a pass to Henrique Sammarco just 4 minutes later to push Harrison ahead by a 2-0 count. In their longest dry spell of the first half, it took Harrison 10 minutes of play before Sammarco took a pass from Holtby and scored. Sporting a 3-0 lead, Harrison’s Logan Walden scored on a penalty kick. The last goal of the first half came on an unassisted goal from Alvaro Fernandez with 4 minutes left. Corbin Simpson set the mercy rule into effect with a goal after taking a pass from Sammarco with 38 minutes left in the game. Harrison is now 6-2-1 overall.
