LADY GOBLINS SERVE NOTICE AT FARMINGTON

FARMINGTON — As tennis enters its final weeks of regular season competition, the Harrison Lady Goblins are controlling the courts. On Tuesday at Farmington, the squad didn’t miss a beat on the way to posting a 4-0 win over the Lady Cardinals. The senior boys managed a 2-2 tie against the Cardinals. “The girls are playing well in all positions, singles and doubles,” said Harrison coach Doug Cox. “They are working at it. I’m please at the way they are playing “Our boys singles are getting in a better groove,” continued the coach. “We have a lack of varsity experience at boys doubles, so we will have to see who fits best at those spots.” Senior Girls Claire Doshier continued her push for an undefeated season. She defeated her opponent, 8-0. Elise Bell also picked up a win in singles action. She won, 8-3. The double combo of Lindsay Ward and Isabel McNutt picked up a win, 8-4. Kylie Anderson and Camryn Casey also served a win, 8-5. In junior varsity action, the team of Chloe Hooten and Elizabeth Hunter won their match, 6-2. Shayne Gilliam and Serena Bolonsky had a shutout in their, 6-0 win. Senior Boys The Harrison Goblins controlled the singles’ action, but faltered in double play. Donnie Armstrong won his single match, 8-4, while Ethan Bell had to have extra time before claiming a 9-7 win. Mason Harrison and Joey Adams fell short in doubles play, 8-0. Carson Ricketts and Luke Short played to an 8-4 loss. Harrison lost the jayvee match, 2-0. Zach Bright and R.J. Atkinson fell, 6-1 while Conner Phillips and Andrew Dirst lost in extra play, 7-6 (7-5). Harrison is back in action at the Harrison Country Club on Thursday afternoon.
