HARRISON SOCCER TEAMS PICK UP WIN EACH

Harrison got its kicks in on two different days this week. The Goblins and Lady Goblins soccer teams played Mountain Home and Prairie Grove. Each team came away with a win. The Lady Goblins also recorded a tie while the Goblins picked up a loss. Harrison’s Lady Goblins defeated Prairie Grove, 5-1 and tied with Mountain Home, 0-0. In boys action, the Goblins fell to Mountain Home, 2-1, while beating Prairie Grove, 7-2. Senior Girls MaKayla Campbell had a shut out for Harrison as the Lady Goblins tied Mountain Home, 0-0. “It was an even game,” said Harrison coach Chris Pratt. “There were a few good chances for both teams.” The Lady Goblins dominated Prairie Grove, 5-1. Harrison scored a 4-0 lead at halftime and then led 5-0 until the closing seconds when Prairie Grove managed to score. Leading the Harrison charge was Grace Martin, Kenzie Parker, Brylie Parker and Claire Doshier with a goal each. The Lady Tigers were kind enough to give the Lady Goblins a goal when they were trying to clear the ball. Hendrix signee Stella Krone had three assists in the game and Martin had one. Campbell had six saves on seven attempts. The Lady Goblins will be back in action on Thursday facing Kickapoo High School of Springfield, Mo. Harrison is now 6-1-2 on the season. Senior Boys Mountain Home took a 2-1 halftime lead over Harrison and held on for the victory, 2-1. Harrison’s goal came from Tyler Wilson. He took a pass from Hunter Holtby for the goal. Rilee Jones was in the goal for most of the game until he was injured. He had 10 saves on 12 shots. River Northey took over after Jones. Northey had three saves on three attempts in the final 10 minutes of the contest. Against Prairie Grove, the Goblins soared to a 7-2 win. Both Harrison goalkeepers gave up a goal in the contest. Jones stopped 5-of-6 shots and Northey stopped 1-of-2 shots. Wilson and Sid Bailey had a hat trick each scoring three goals. Hunter Thompson scored on a penalty kick. Holtby, Wilson, Bailey, Thompson and Max Payne each had an assist in the contest. Harrison is 3-3-4 on the season. The Goblins were back in action on Friday night at Green Forest.
