HARRISON BATS THUMP SILOAM SPRINGS

SILOAM SPRINGS — A trip over to Siloam Springs was well worth the drive for the Harrison McDonald’s Big Macs. On Thursday, the Big Macs picked up a pair of wins over Siloam Springs, 7-3, in a seven-inning ballgame and, 13-3, in a four-inning affair. Harrison 7, Siloam Springs 3 Harrison won the opening game, 7-3, with a late rally. Siloam Springs held a 2-1 advantage before the Big Mac bats woke up in the top of the sixth. Cooper King led the inning off with a double and was moved over by Jake Moorehouse. Ozzie Sindland tied the game with an RBI single to score King. Thailer Lovell laced a double into left field to score Sindland for the Big Mac’s first lead of the game. A sacrifice from Noah Brown score Lovell to make it a 4-2 ballgame. Siloam Springs answered with a single run in the bottom of the sixth to make it a one-run game. Harrison would build on its lead in the top of the seventh with another three runs. Teagan James singled to center field before advancing to third on a double by King. Moorehouse would reach base on an error by Siloam Springs that also let James score on the play. With Moorehouse at second base, Sindland would drive in both King and Moorehouse with a single, putting the Big Mac lead at 7-3. That’s where the game would end as King retired Siloam Springs in order in the bottom of the seventh. Siloam Springs got on the board with a single run in the second inning to take the first lead of the game. Harrison tied the ballgame in the top of the fifth as Brown scored on a single from Tanner Taylor. Siloam Springs would tack on a single run in the bottom half of the inning for a 2-1 lead. King led the Big Macs with four hits in the contest. Sindland and Lovell added two apiece and Taylor, James and Jaxon Edwards one each. Sindland drove in three RBI. Taylor, Moorehouse, Lovell and Brown added one apiece. King scored two runs for Harrison. James, Moorehouse, Sindland, Lovell and Brown added one each. Earning the win on the mound was King as he threw two innings in relief. He allowed one run on no hits while striking out two. Adam Brown started the game and pitched five innings for the Big Macs. He allowed one earned run on five hits while striking out seven and walking three. Harrison 13, Siloam Springs 3 The Big Macs scored early and often in the second game of the night, winning it, 13-3. Harrison scored twice in the top of the first inning as Lovell and Taylor both crossed home plate with James and Moorehouse each picking up an RBI. In the second inning, Dameon Ireland singled and then scored on a SIloam Springs error on a ball hit by Ty Phillips to make it a 3-0 Harrison lead. Both teams put three runs on the board in the third inning. Moorehouse, Sindland and Zack Still each scored for Harrison in the frame. The Big Macs put the finishing touches on the victory with seven runs in the fourth inning. Taylor, Moorehouse, Still, Ireland, Adam Brown and Garrett Underdown each scored in the inning to set the final score at 13-3. James, Taylor, Sindland, Still, Ireland and Phillips each picked up one hit. Phillips led the team with two RBI. Taylor, Moorehouse, Ireland and Glen Nelle added one apiece. Lovell, Taylor, Moorehouse, Still and Ireland each scored two runs for the Big Macs. UP NEXT The Big Macs will hit the road on Monday as they travel to Mountain Home. On Wednesay, Harrison will play host to Clarksville on Jack Williams Field before making a trip to Russellville on Friday.
