JUNIOR GOBLINS CLAIM TITLE

The Harrison Junior Goblins won the district title on Saturday. Harrison downed Farmington by a score of 49-28 to claim the championship. The Harrison Junior Lady Goblins didn’t have the same success as they came up just short of a district title on Saturday. Junior Boys Harrison pulled out a 49-28 victory over Farmington to claim the district title on Saturday. Both teams scored nine points in the first quarter, but Harrison held Farmington to just two points in the second quarter to hold a 20-11 lead. Harrison’s lead continued to grow in the third period as the Junior Goblins held a 38-20 lead with one quarter to play. Ben Elliott led Harrison with 15 points. Colten Shaver added 10, Keaton Brown, Josh McCormick and Gabe Huskey six apiece, Garrett Underdown three, Rilee Jones two and Dylan Wilson one. “We weren’t great offensively,” commented Harrison head coach Josh Manes. “We missed some easy layups and took some awful shots. We were so tough on defense and rebounded the ball so well, it didn’t matter though. It was a great end to the season. I was very proud of all of the kids and how they played.” Junior Girls Facing the rival Mountain Home Junior Lady Bombers, Harrison fell, 25-22, in overtime. The two teams headed to the extra period with the score tied at 20-20. The Junior Lady Goblins were able to muster only two points in the frame as Mountain Home claimed the victory with five points in the overtime. Mountain Home took a 5-4 lead through one quarter of play and extended that lead to 13-8 at the half. Harrison was able to chip only a single point off the deficit in the third quarter as Mountain Home held an 18-14 lead heading to the fourth. The Junior Lady Goblins erased the deficit completely in the fourth quarter as they won the frame, 6-2, to force the overtime period with the score locked at 20-20. Caroline Cecil scored 14 points for Harrison. Sydney Shrum added three, Kenzie Parker and Maggie Salmon two apiece and Marion Groberg one.
