HARRISON CALMS CYCLONES AT RUSSELLVILLE

RUSSELLVILLE — The weather may have been cold outside, but it was hot in Cyclone Gym in Russellville. Well, it was hot for the northern visitors from Harrison. The Lady Goblins dominated play and recorded a 56-33 win while the Goblins cruised to a 67-35 affair. Senior Girls After a close game in Harrison when Russellville visited, the Lady Goblins made sure it wasn’t close again. Harrison defeated the Lady Cyclones, 56-33. Alicia Auman started the scoring for Harrison with a bucket that was followed by a score from Mckenzie Glenn to make it 4-0. Russellville scored to make it 4-2. That was as close as the home town could get. Briley Due scored next for Harrison to start an 18-3 run. Auman added two free throws pushing the Harrison lead to six points. Russellville knocked down one of its two first half 3-pointers to make it 8-5. It was all Harrison after that. Brylie Parker toed the free throw line and hit two tosses, but a lane violation took one of those away. Due scored her second bucket of the game before Auman drained a trey. After another Glenn basket, Parker had two buckets with Due hitting one to make it a 22-5 contest. Harrison ran into foul trouble late in the second period, but Peri Knight, Lane Horn, Claire Doshier and Taryn Robinson kept the Lady Goblins moving along with their defense and ball handling. Russellville hit a free throw to start the second period, but Doshier answered with two charity tosses. Maddie Wyatt hit a bucket that was followed by two Parker free throws to give the Lady Goblins their first 20-point lead at 30-10. The Lady Goblins finished the first half with a 37-19 lead. Russellville pulled within 15 points midway through the third period, but Harrison regrouped and Knight hit back-to-back buckets to close the period with the Lady Goblins leading, 45-25. In the fourth period, Harrison built it’s biggest lead. The squad led, 56-31, as Lauryn Robertson scored twice in a row. Leading Harrison in scoring was Due with 14 points. Parker added 13, Auman and Glenn seven each, Doshier, Knight and Lauryn Robertson four each and Wyatt three.
